EXPRMNTL was not just a film festival. It was a gathering of artists from a wide variety of disciplines who sought to express themselves in original ways. As such, side events, discussions, unusual encounters and controversies formed part of the festival, and are brought together here in the form of anecdotes.
In 1963, a young P. Adams Sitney and his friend Jonas Mekas travelled to Knokke to attend the third edition of EXPRMNTL.
